Setting the scene
Kerry Parkin, founder, The Remarkables
Rob Shapland, ethical hacker, Cyonic
Cyber incidents are no longer just technical failures – they are fast-moving organisational crises that test leadership, coordination and communication. This session will give senior teams a clear understanding of how modern attacks unfold, why human error remains the biggest vulnerability, and what ‘good’ looks like in the first critical hours. Drawing on real case studies and frontline experience, it will focus on the practical steps every organisation must take to strengthen preparedness.
The session will break down the essential actions that matter most:
- how to spot early signs of an attack
- how to escalate quickly
- how to communicate clearly while investigations are ongoing
The aim is not to teach the technical detail, but to equip leaders with the confidence, structure and mindset needed to respond decisively and protect people, data and reputation.

How Anglian Water equipped its people to understand cyber risks
Simon Jones, cyber security awareness & engagement lead, Anglian Water Services
‘Lurking in the shadows of the internet, monsters are waiting for one person to make one mistake which could compromise our security. Don’t be that person!’
That message was plastered across the walls of Anglian Water’s headquarters in 2016 to launch Cyber Safe—a campaign designed to build awareness of cyber security through six characters (Hack, Viro, Cipher, Cloud, Data and Phish) and simple, practical advice. It was a success: award-winning and credited with considerably improving understanding of cyber risk across the organisation.
But ten years later, the cyber threat landscape has significantly changed. Join Simon Jones, cyber security awareness & engagement lead at Anglian Water Services, as he explores what’s different now, how communications and engagement must evolve, and what that means for the next chapter of Cyber Safe.

Is behavioural change, cyber security’s biggest blind spot?
Kate Napoli, behaviour change strategist, Radley Yeldar
We often say people are the weakest link in cybersecurity. But if we really believe that, why do we keep overlooking the very human factors that actually influence behaviour?
In this session, behaviour change strategist Kate Napoli digs into that gap.
Instead of relying on box-ticking training and compliance exercises, she’ll explore how organisations can genuinely motivate employees to care about security, and importantly, act on it.
Drawing on behavioural science, it’ll show how small changes in how we communicate can have a big impact on what people do. Unfortunately, just sharing more information isn’t the most effective way to engage your people. It’s also about making it land at the right moment, in a way that captures attention and inspires.
At its core, this comes down to two things: behavioural insight, and a healthy dose of creative thinking.

Fireside chat: It’s not if, it’s when - cyber readiness, risk culture & communicating under pressure
Jenny Pirault, manager, Sodali & Co, chats to Inderjit Birak, vice president, security advisory, LevelBlue
In an era where cyber threats are evolving faster than ever, organisations must look ahead and prepare for what’s coming next. This session will explore the emerging cyber risk landscape through a forward-looking lens examining imminent threats, shifting attacker tactics, and the new wave of communication challenges leaders will face when responding to incidents under pressure.
Our conversation will highlight how to build truly resilient organisations by adopting an enterprise-wide view of cyber risk. We’ll discuss how to identify the most critical risks, make informed risk-based decisions, and foster a culture of preparedness that spans every level of the business.
Finally, we’ll explore how to embed communication planning into broader risk management documentation to ensure organisations are fully prepared for potential cyber incidents.
